Funeral Service

Andy's funeral took place on Tuesday 27th July 2021 at Frankby Cemetery at 2.30pm.

The service was in two parts - the first part in the chapel at 2.30pm, followed by a short graveside service.

Due to Covid restrictions, the chapel service itself was limited to only 30 attendees, but many other well wishers attended outside the chapel and at the graveside, which was lovely.

The weather was mostly not bad - a little bit of rain, but this didn't deter anyone.

The celebrant who conducted the service was Andrew Deighton, a local gentleman who did an excellent job of shaping the service and reading parts of the eulogy.

We streamed the service in real-time, which was only partially successful due to the local mast not really being up to the workload.  The idea was so that people outside of the chapel, and those unable to get to the cemetery at all could at least get a feel for the service.

The link for the stream is here - it starts about 17 minutes in so you'll need to fast-forward to that point, and it is a bit stop-start so is pretty difficult to watch.  It might be easier turning down the audio and reading the transcrip at the same time.

A transcript of the service is available here.

A recording of the graveside service is available here:

The funeral reception was held at Peel Hey which is very close to the cemetery.

And we managed to find a place for the left over buffet bits - The Bridge Project in Birkenhead - they were very pleased.  They can be contacted on 0151 650 0617 if you find yourself in a position with lots of leftover food from an event.
